It's true that there hasn't been any release of FAUmachine since 2012, but it's not dead upstream. May I suggest to just remove the binary packages to not block the libpng transition for now? I'll talk to Volkmar (upstream) today and see if/when there'll be a new release and how to best proceed with the debian package. I'll give you an update tomorrow. Cheers, Stefan.
