Does it also remove the grub hooks in /etc/kernel/* ? Those are the ones causing the problem, i believe.
The only reference I see to grub there is in kernel-img.conf. Uninstalling grub (0.97-3) does not change that file, but delete the /sbin/update-grub file that it refers to. Removing those references changes nothing to my purge problem.
Indeed, if 2.6.15 solves this problem, we can close this bug. But does it ?
