OK, thanks. Given the current transition in dpkg maintenance, it's quite likely that this issue isn't solved for a while, if it pertains to dpkg. Indeed, we've already seen other UTF-8 strange problems with info (for instance, try "info man" with an English UTF-8 locale), so there may be a chance that the culprit is info and not man. Denis (Abrbier, CC'ed), advice?
