Package: postgresql-server-dev-8.1
Version: 8.1.0-3
Severity: important
This package contains pg_config which links to shared libraries, but the
control files does not pick up these dependencies via ${shlibs:Depends}
or otherwise. This makes pg_config unusable unless you happen to have
all these dependencies installed anyway.
One incarnation of this problem is:
http://buildd.debian.org/fetch.php?&pkg=postgresql-pljava&ver=1.1.0-4&arch=sparc&stamp=1137022950&file=log&as=raw
/usr/lib/postgresql/8.0/bin/pg_config: error while loading shared libraries:
libssl.so.0.9.8: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
AFAICT, this problem applies to all packages that ship some version of
pg_config, including in particular postgresql-server-dev-8.0. (-7.4
perhaps not because pg_config is a shell script there.)
