Package: libvdpau-va-gl1
Version: 0.3.4-2
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

after installing libvdpau-va-gl1 (system has intel graphics and vaapi
installed) I get the following
output from vdpauinfo:

jba@lisa:~$ vdpauinfo
display: :0   screen: 0
Failed to open VDPAU backend libvdpau_i965.so: cannot open shared object file:
No such file or directory
Error creating VDPAU device: 1
jba@lisa:~$

However, there is no lib libvdpau_i965.so in any package. After creating a
symbolic links to libvdpau_va_gl.so.1,
vdpauinfo is able to contact vaapi:

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root      19 Mär 12 22:07 libvdpau_i965.so.1 ->
libvdpau_va_gl.so.1

jba@lisa:~$ vdpauinfo
display: :0   screen: 0
[VS] Software VDPAU backend library initialized

[intel_init_bufmgr:1068] Error initializing buffer manager.
libGL error: failed to create dri screen
libGL error: failed to load driver: i965
libva info: VA-API version 0.38.1
libva info: va_getDriverName() returns 0
libva info: Trying to open /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/dri/i965_drv_video.so

vdpauinfo: intel_memman.c:39: intel_memman_init: Assertion `intel->bufmgr'
failed.

jba@lisa:~$

However, now libva does not work, but this is a different story.

Due to the libva bug I installed backports for libva and i965-va-driver.
However, the problem with the missing
link is the same with the original versions from jessie. Just the libva error
is different with the
backports.

So I think libvdpau-va-gl1 should create links to libvdpau_va_gl.so.1 for all
chipsets that are supported.

Regards,

Juergen
