reassign 556953 linux-image-2.6.32-5-amd64 thanks This bug is indeed a bad interaction of amd64 kernel and 32-bit userspace. It was fixed in mainline kernel, version 2.6.37 by the commit a254dba37c5a372fc8b44ba29509ba052d4e859d
