It's not about LAVA_NETWORK_INTERFACE, nor about arbitrary heuristic. The only 
problem is
that some users get generated broken config (syntax error) and have to manually 
fix it
(while it would be easy to avoid that).

It looks to me it's default for current lava-server, but I might be wrong.
