Most probably a change in the CCID driver.
What would help me a lot is a pcscd trace with a working CCID driver so I can
compare the 2 traces.
Can you try to install older libccid packages until you find one that works for
you?
In your initial bug report you used libccid 1.4.16-1
wheezy (oldstable) has version 1.4.7-1. This should be a good candidate.
