Btw, I did execute an 'apt-get update' upfront.
I have no clue why the depends don't get sucked in automagically,
especially since it seems to be a hit-or-miss thing that only affects
a few people. It is likely a dselect vs apt-get issue on dependancy
handling.
To work around the issue, do this:
apt-get -s install sendmail sendmail-base sendmail-bin sendmail-cf \
sensible-mda rmail
