Dear Maintainer, the problem still persists in jessie. I suppose it started after running out of space on /var/ which caused do stop log file compression to fail. Logrotate does not recover from this situation if there is again more space on /var/, I manuall removed *log.1.gz for those files with file size of zero The directory listing attached is *after* the deletion of these files.
