Yeah, I can reproduce it with your examples. Thanks.
Sometimes it looks like it's there having one pixel size, sometimes zero
size. I tried bisecting between known versions but it's a mess, too many
versions inbetween are FTBFSing on Sid for different reasons.
This should be debugged step by step, I hope to find time ASAP.
