Package: vim Version: 2:7.4.488-7 Severity: important Dear Maintainer,
the current version of Vim is not working with vim-youcompleteme package. * What led up to the situation? Installation of vim-youcompleteme package. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? Installed vim-youcompleteme via Synaptic Package Manager. Afterwards I issued '$ vam install youcompleteme' on the commandline. * What was the outcome of this action? Vim takes significantly longer to start but code completion does not work. I tried editing Java as well as C++ files. Output of ':YcmDiag' in Vim is: 'Native filetype completion not supported for current file, cannot force recompil ation.' * What outcome did you expect instead? Code completion as stated in the description of the package. -- Package-specific info: --- real paths of main Vim binaries --- /usr/bin/vi is /usr/bin/vim.nox /usr/bin/vim is /usr/bin/vim.nox -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.2 APT prefers testing APT policy: (1000, 'testing'), (1000, 'stable'), (995, 'stable'), (750, 'testing'), (500, 'testing-updates'), (500, 'stable-updates') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages vim depends on: ii libacl1 2.2.52-2 ii libc6 2.19-18+deb8u1 ii libgpm2 1.20.4-6.1+b2 ii libselinux1 2.3-2 ii libtinfo5 5.9+20140913-1+b1 ii vim-common 2:7.4.488-7 ii vim-runtime 2:7.4.488-7 vim recommends no packages.
