Hi James, an upload to Experimental would be easy, but we are still trying to make a Stable update, and this requires Sid and Testing to stay at the old version. This said, I just proposed to give up on the Stable update, so maybe things will move forward soon. Would it be enough to use Ubuntu's version 0.7.7~bzr1149 for our Debian package?
