This is a followup for bug:
http://bugs.debian.org/234062

A year ago you reported that blend "crashed" your X server.
THe problem was somewhat know at this time, but it should have
been reassigned to the xserver-xfree86 as it was some bugs in
xfree86 drivers 3D support.
Blender is often the only opengl applicatin affected as it is one
of the most opengl intensive application.

A bug about crash in ATI xfree86 driver was fixed today and
should be available on your mirror tomorrow.
The version is 4.3.0.dfsg.1-11.

Could you confirm that it fixes your issues about blender crashing X
when starting (or at any other time) ?

I had previously tried to ask more information but mistaken the
process to do so. Thus you did not received my request, but the
questions are available on the bug page.
If the issue remains could you look after those.

Thank you for those reports regarding blender and debian.

Regards
Alban
