Ok, now I see where the confusion comes from. Tomcat isn't systemd'ized yet, so the pki-tomcat service files aren't actually used, /etc/init.d/pki-tomcatd is. You can still use systemctl to control pki-tomcat, show it's status etc. I just installed a vanilla ipa server from sid, and things work fine even after a reboot. -- t
