My first attempt was logged in via my alioth credentials for mathiasb-guest. Indeed the provisional account was created, but the server error raises whenever the email challenge is triggered. I meanwhile tried also with a SSO certificate (I didn't have one before), but the problem persists. So it seems I will have to wait until someone with insight will have a look at the problem.
