Package: check
Followup-For: Bug #748464
Control: close -1

Hi Uwe,

when providing a fix for #799991 I remembered that I saw this report to when I
updated the package at DebConf15 and it is related:
Short story: No, lpthread would be wrong.

Longer story: The autoconf macro acx_pthread will take care to dertermine the
required linker and compiler flags and you are supposed to provide both to the
linker.
The autoconf macro says this too:

# NOTE: You are assumed to not only compile your program with these flags,
# but also link it with them as well. e.g. you should link with
# $PTHREAD_CC $CFLAGS $PTHREAD_CFLAGS $LDFLAGS ... $PTHREAD_LIBS $LIBS

Background information can be found here:
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/autoconf-archive-maintainers/2013-06/msg00021.html

Closing.
