Hi,
the -D option of squid makes it skip initial dns availability tests.
Those are made to ensure that DNS is there, but can cause issues in
setups that don't have a continously available name server.

This is not related with internal-dns, which disable build and usage of
an external helper for DNS resolution and use the internal, non-blocking
routines. (see bug #184208 for details).

In addition you can redifine SQUID_ARGS in /etc/default/squid and remove
it yourself.

Would you still suggest '-D' removed from /etc/init.d/squid?

Regards,
