Thanks for your initiative. Just for your information: the debconf templates are part of the new package update / removal procedure that we (Ritesh and myself) introduced in 2.0.873+git0.3b4b4500-11. The idea is that the debconf prompts are only shown if something went really wrong and we want to give the administrator a chance to salvage things. (Since this is storage-related, data loss would occur otherwise.) If everything works as expected, the administrator should never even see any debconf prompts at all. The entire maintscript logic still will need quite a bit more testing (we'll put out a call for testing it after uploading an update for a related package) and therefore we didn't want to ask for translations and/or review of the messages just yet, because we're not sure that the current logic is going to remain exactly the same or if there'll be the need for some tweaking - and thus some alterations in which debconf templates the package needs. That said, if you think reviewing at this stage is a good idea anyway, please do so (we appreciate that), otherwise I would suggest to block this bug against #797112, which we'll close once we are confident enough in the maintscript logic; either directly, if everything is already ok, or by a new upload if some changes are needed. Also note that if anyone reviewing/translating the templates is not familiar with iSCSI concepts, please ask (preferably via the mailing list [1]), I'll gladly explain anything that's unclear.
