Package: sane-utils Version: 1.0.24-8 Followup-For: Bug #772554 Dear Maintainer,
Not sure if this is the same bug. I have an Epson Perfection 1260 scanner. It was working all right on Wheezy (took a while to warm up, but eventually was available). Since the update to Jessie, it doesn't work at all. When I have the "xsane" package installed, "gimp" hangs forever during startup. "scanimage -L" hangs forever with no output. In fact, I can't even "kill" or "kill -9" any of the "/usr/lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins/xsane" or "scanimage" processes. I changed "option warmup" from "-1" to "3" in "/etc/sane.d/plustek.conf", but that doesn't help either. -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.1 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-686-pae (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages sane-utils depends on: ii adduser 3.113+nmu3 ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.56 ii init-system-helpers 1.22 ii libavahi-client3 0.6.31-5 ii libavahi-common3 0.6.31-5 ii libc6 2.19-18 ii libieee1284-3 0.2.11-12 ii libsane 1.0.24-8 ii libsystemd0 215-17+deb8u1 ii libusb-1.0-0 2:1.0.19-1 ii update-inetd 4.43 sane-utils recommends no packages.
