Hello Carsten,

thank you for your feedback. You are right, it was an SSL/TLS issue. I have 
checked the error console in icedove and saw a message relating to "weak 
ephemeral diffie-hellman keys". So I contacted the owner of the server and 
suggested what to do. Even if they claimed they have not touched anything, 
it suddenly began to work. So it works now but I don't know why ... :/

This smells a little bit like there are issues with TLS/SSL. Did you
mentions the infos from README.Debian within /usr/share/doc/icedove/?

Otherwise note please note

there for issues.

This doesn't matter here, unfortunately this warning is some kind of
normal.

Such errors could all been solved in the past so no need for excusing.
