I've retried the build and it built fine.
For the record this is not the first time src:cruft fails to build in our
infrastructure:

Quite some FTBFS on our infrastructure are do to us using
DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS=parallel=23 (e.g. very high) and some packages not coping
fine with it.
That can also explain why some times it fails and some times not, though that
error (that sadly it's gone now...) did not make much sense to me.
For what I'm concerned You can close the bug since the package builds fine (at
least now)
