Hi, I confirm that this appears to be an issue.
I upgraded from Wheezy to Jessie today whilst also swapping out two drives for new ones (4 drive RAID-10 array). The boot sequence wouldn't continue until I ran mdadm --run /dev/X. At this time, there were two disks missing in the array, i.e. it it was U_U_.
I run with "bootdegraded" in the kernel options but this made no difference.
