Package: realmd Version: 0.15.1-1+b2 Severity: important Dear Maintainer,
Hi, fresh install of jessie. Installed realmd and get: root@debian8:~# realm join --verbose --user=someone the.domain * Resolving: _ldap._tcp.the.domain * Performing LDAP DSE lookup on: 1.1.1.1 * Performing LDAP DSE lookup on: 1.1.1.2 * Successfully discovered: the.domain Password for someone: * Unconditionally checking packages * Resolving required packages * Installing necessary packages: sssd-tools, libpam-sss, libnss-sss, sssd, samba-common-bin * LANG=C LOGNAME=root /usr/bin/net -s /var/cache/realmd/realmd-smb-conf.Z2P0ZX -U someone ads join the.domain Enter someone's password:Failed to open /var/lib/samba/private/secrets.tdb Failed to join domain: Unable to open secrets database ! Joining the domain the.domain failed realm: Couldn't join realm: Joining the domain the.domain failed This is resolved by mkdir'ing the above before doing the above. This bug also leaves sssd in a strange state, whereby I had to leave the domain and rejoin before things worked.
