Hi Joey, vim-tiny is available in debian/unstable. There are still some minor bugs, but the package is fine. The installed-size of it and of vim-common are as I anticipated (776 + 232 on i386); the only additional dependencies are libc6 and libncurses5. Feel free to start the discussion on d-d for the inclusion of vim-tiny in the base system in place of nvi (or just ask and I will do it).
