At this point, I can only say I am in a conflict of interest with this
package. I have struggled repeatedly with upstream to try to get them to
adopt a large patchset from the community. I have tried again and again
to convine him to merge 5 patches, including bugfixes and feature
improvements, to no avail.

I am not using the Debian package for my deployments for that reason - I
always use the merged branch from git (on alioth) instead. I have not
seem positive feedback from upstream that he will merge patches from the
community at all.

So yeah, maybe we should update the debian package, but considering how
upstream still hasn't down a single official release, I hardly feel any
pressure there.

I would be happy to let someone else do this of course.

A.
