It's nice that this is getting some traction again. FWIW as a user
who'd like to install moreutils but is too addicted to GNU parallel to
give it up I'd prefer a situation where the moreutils parallel command
is split up into its own package, and I can then pick & GNU parallel +
(moreutils - parallel), or even just make "moreutils" some
meta-package that installs the individual scripts in it.

While looking through dependencies in Debian is certainly informative
these utilities are also heavily used ad-hoc on the command-line.

I'd *really* like not to have to type "parallel --gnu" every time I
use parallel, and I bet those used to the moreutils parallel have
similar concerns.
