I can't reproduce this in Jessie (which has 2:3.3.9-8) amd64:
~ → which uptime
/usr/bin/uptime
~ → ls -l /usr/bin/uptime
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 10384 Sep 28 01:46 /usr/bin/uptime*
~ → dpkg -S /usr/bin/uptime
procps: /usr/bin/uptime
~ → dpkg -l procps
[…]
ii procps 2:3.3.9-8 amd64 /proc file system utilities
~ →
Please tell us on which architecture this happened and the output of
"dpkg --verify procps" (or "debsums -c procps").
P.S.: I've just added the "2:3.3.9-8" as "found" because there was a
blank line between "Package:" and "Version:" in the initial report and
hence the initially reported version was not recognized. As mentioned
above I was not able to reproduce this with exactly that version.
