Hi, I can confirm the htdig and amd64 problems, too. Using a 2.6.12-1-amd64-k8-smp kernel on testing, the amd64 htdig and htmerge produces a database > 1GB, but amd64 htsearch cannot find anything. Even strace shows no problems... The way working for me, was using the 32bit htdig, htmerge and htsearch binaries. Any other combination produces some errors.
