Also, IIRC, David had mentioned that he no more uses wicd. Anyways, since I use wicd on a daily basis, I went ahead and prepped 1.7.3. I'm running it on my box right now. There's nothing major in this release apart from a large set of bug fixes, which resulted in some of the patches being dropped, others refreshed.
