Added to /etc/yaird/Default.cfg:
MODULE piix
MODULE generic
MODULE ide-disk
and ran:
yaird --verbose --output=/boot/initrd.img-2.6.14-2-686 2.6.14-2-686
Exactly the same problem: no joy.
