They address more corner cases when dealing with $SETTING{'date offset'}
* correct value calculation for future dates
* correct value calculation in non-GMT timezones 'round midnight
* use today as fallback for illegal dates instead of the 1st January 1
* a few more checks for illegal dates

It would be cool if these changes would make it into the next gscan2pdf release.
