Package: pinta Version: 1.3-3 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
Issue: I installed pinta via 'sudo apt-get install pinta'. While I can open images fine from inside Pinta, but there is not option to open from inside Nautilus. It is not in the "Open With..." sub-menu, nor is it at all present in the full list of programs that is given when I choose "Other Application..." from said sub-menu. Solution: -Open /usr/share/applications/pinta.desktop -Find and replace line 'Exec=pinta' with line 'Exec=pinta %F'. -(you might need to restart your file manager in order for Pinta to appear in the "Open With" menu Notes: -I went with %F instead of %U since pinta doesn't seem to support URLs -/usr/share/applications/pinta.desktop is missing the optional 'TryExec=' entry -While the program works fine, the package will remain a second-rate citizen of any XDG compliant Desktop Environment until fixed. -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.0 APT prefers testing-updates APT policy: (500, 'testing-updates'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages pinta depends on: ii gnome-icon-theme 3.12.0-1 ii libc6 2.19-13 ii libglib2.0-cil 2.12.10-5 ii libgtk2.0-cil 2.12.10-5 ii libmono-addins-gui0.2-cil 1.0+git20130406.adcd75b-3 ii libmono-addins0.2-cil 1.0+git20130406.adcd75b-3 ii libmono-cairo4.0-cil 3.2.8+dfsg-8 ii libmono-corlib4.5-cil 3.2.8+dfsg-8 ii libmono-posix4.0-cil 3.2.8+dfsg-8 ii libmono-sharpzip4.84-cil 3.2.8+dfsg-8 ii libmono-system-core4.0-cil 3.2.8+dfsg-8 ii libmono-system-xml4.0-cil 3.2.8+dfsg-8 ii libmono-system4.0-cil 3.2.8+dfsg-8 ii mono-runtime 3.2.8+dfsg-8 pinta recommends no packages. pinta suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
