Just to note that on all distros I have tried, a simple notification not
only prodduces errors but also hangs. For example:
zenity --notification -- text "Notification is shown but then the
terminal hangs"; echo "so this command is never reached"
This happens on new installs of:
Debian 7.7.0 (zenity 3.4.0 -- does not echo the Glib errors)
Ubuntu 14.04 / Linux Mint 17 (zenity 3.8.0)
openSuse 13.2 (zenity 3.14.0)
Therefore --notification (in this simple form at least) seems unuseable
until this bug is fixed.
