Thanks for the short-term workaround; if you eventually pin down exactly which packages need to be kept at older versions to maintain this, I'd be interested in knowing, so that I can pin only the necessary packages. Interestingly, I've noticed another scrolling bug recently in the GTK3 version of freeciv-client, although I haven't tested in the GTK2 version.
