Package: mutt
Version: 1.5.21-6.2+deb7u2
Severity: wishlist

Dear Maintainer,

when mutt is called before any mail has arrived (i.e. $MAIL does
not yet exist), it asks "$MAIL does not exist. Create it? ([yes]/no)"
upon every invocation.

This question is kind of pointless: in many cases, the creation will not be
possible (becaus of insufficient permissions to do so), and in all other
cases there is no difference between no inbox file or an empty one.

By adding the line

| set folder=""

into either /etc/Muttrc or /etc/skel/.muttrc this question could be
suppressed without any disadvantages. Is it possible to modify the
configuration this way?

Stefan
