I'm in complte agreement with closing this bug. A few months later, I upgraded from squeeze to wheezy successfully, and wheezy has been running on my server ever since.
I submitted this bug report while wheezy was still in development, in the hope that it would help debug the upgrade process. Mission accomplished.
