Collectd incorrectly detaches threads in the java plugin, leading to a plugin lockup. A patch for this issue will be part of upcoming bugfix release 5.4.2 and can be retrieved at this address: https://github.com/collectd/collectd/commit/513a5cafb5c1 I believe it should be included in the package shipped with jessie, as it prevents collectd from locking up.
