As this is only in a Recommends and not a dependency I don't think this warrants a stable update. You can just install the postgresql package yourself if it does not get pulled in by something else. I'm quite sure it will get pulled in by something else if you install all recommends. Or am I missing something? The problem is fixed in the upcoming Debian jessie release.
