Yeah, I was looking into this a bit and couldn't find the reason for dh_girepository not picking it up... but also didn't want to do this workaround solution as there seems to be an underlying problem somewhere. As we're near a release I guess this workaround is fine, but we should keep this bug open nonetheless. Same bug is in gst-plugins-base1.0 btw. Feel free to NMU that one the same way too, but also keep that bug open.
