Package: smartmontools Version: 6.3+svn4002-1 --- Please enter the report below this line. --- The error reports for sdc disk are, of course, real. Disk is not in use but connected. I question the report for the sda disk. This is an older 80gig WDC PATA. Here is its table entry: { "Western Digital Caviar Blue (SATA 6Gb/s)", // tested with WDC WD10EZEX-00RKKA0/80.00A80 "WDC WD800JB-00ETA0/ "", "", "" }, This is NOT a SATA disk. One could only wish it were 6gb/s :-) An entry citing this number in comment above this, IDE "not completely accurate."
The logs say changing from "scsi" to "sat." Should be "ide??" What I would like to do: 1. Determine the veracity, correct or surpress the sda disk errors. 2. Surpress the sdc OFFLINE disk errors which refer to one damaged area not in use, possibly to start using other, clean partitions. 3. That all users not receive these warnings, that only one user--myself gets them. --- System information. --- Architecture: amd64 Kernel: Linux 3.16-1-amd64 Debian Release: jessie/sid 500 unstable ftp.us.debian.org 500 testing ftp.us.debian.org 500 sid linux.dropbox.com --- Package information. --- Depends (Version) | Installed ============================-+-============= libc6 (>= 2.17) | libcap-ng0 | libgcc1 (>= 1:4.1.1) | libselinux1 (>= 1.32) | libstdc++6 (>= 4.1.1) | debianutils (>= 2.2) | lsb-base (>= 3.2-14) | Recommends (Version) | Installed =========================-+-=========== mailx | OR mailutils | Suggests (Version) | Installed =============================-+-=========== gsmartcontrol | smart-notifier | 0.28-5 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
