Package: shutter Version: 0.92-0.1 Severity: grave Shutter now fails to perform simple screenshots in Jessie.
Here's an example of this problem: ``` anarcat@marcos:~$ shutter -s defined(@array) is deprecated at /usr/bin/shutter line 3727. (Maybe you should just omit the defined()?) defined(@array) is deprecated at /usr/bin/shutter line 3738. (Maybe you should just omit the defined()?) WARNING: Gtk2::AppIndicator is missing --> there will be no icon showing up in the status bar when running Unity! [... select zone, press enter] Expecting 1645 bytes, got 47 at -1 at /usr/share/perl5/X11/Auth.pm line 39. *** unhandled exception in callback: *** Unexpected short read from authority file/home/anarcat/.Xauthority at /usr/share/perl5/X11/Protocol.pm line 2307. *** ignoring at /usr/share/perl5/Shutter/Screenshot/Main.pm line 352. [at this point i expected the usual popup with the captured image, but instead shutter seems hanged. sending a signal (e.g. control-c on the terminal) makes it resume its regular duties and the captured image shows up normally] ^CGLib-CRITICAL **: Source ID 159 was not found when attempting to remove it at /usr/bin/shutter line 7247. ``` I marked this as "grave" because it makes shutter basically completely unuseable unless someone knows about the commandline, which makes shutter basically useless (i can think of a few other ways to make screenshots from the commandline, the whole point of this software is to have an intuitive pointy-clicky interface). My .Xauthority file is readable: anarcat@marcos:~$ file .Xauthority .Xauthority: X11 Xauthority data The last upgrade I can pin this problem to is: dpkg.log.1:2014-09-08 15:05:57 upgrade shutter:all 0.90.1-0.1 0.92-0.1 It could also be: dpkg.log.5.gz:2014-05-05 20:54:43 upgrade shutter:all 0.88.3-1 0.90.1-0.1 .. but i'd be surprised if i didn't notice that bug since may... This could also be a problem with libx11-protocol-perl, mind you... but then that package wasn't updated since may, and even then, it seemed like a minor dependency update. So I really think something blew up in Shutter... -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (1, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.16-2-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=fr_FR.utf8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages shutter depends on: ii imagemagick 8:6.8.9.6-4 ii libfile-basedir-perl 0.03-1 ii libfile-copy-recursive-perl 0.38-1 ii libfile-which-perl 1.09-1 ii libglib-perl 3:1.305-2 ii libgnome2-canvas-perl 1.002-3+b1 ii libgnome2-gconf-perl 1.044-5+b1 ii libgnome2-perl 1.045-1+b1 ii libgnome2-vfs-perl 1.082-1+b1 ii libgnome2-wnck-perl 0.16-3+b1 ii libgtk2-imageview-perl 0.05-2+b1 ii libgtk2-perl 2:1.2492-3 ii libgtk2-unique-perl 0.05-2+b1 ii libimage-magick-perl [perlmagick] 8:6.8.9.6-4 ii libjson-perl 2.61-1 ii libjson-xs-perl 2.340-1+b2 ii liblocale-gettext-perl 1.05-8+b1 ii libnet-dbus-perl 1.0.0-2+b2 ii libnet-dropbox-api-perl 1.9-1 ii libpath-class-perl 0.35-1 ii libproc-processtable-perl 0.50-2+b1 ii libproc-simple-perl 1.31-1 ii librsvg2-common 2.40.4-1 ii libsort-naturally-perl 1.03-1 ii libwww-mechanize-perl 1.73-2 ii libwww-perl 6.08-1 ii libx11-protocol-perl 0.56-6 ii libxml-simple-perl 2.20-1 ii perlmagick 8:6.8.9.6-4 ii procps 2:3.3.9-8 ii xdg-utils 1.1.0~rc1+git20111210-7.1 Versions of packages shutter recommends: ii libgoo-canvas-perl 0.06-2+b1 Versions of packages shutter suggests: ii gnome-web-photo 0.10.6-1 ii libimage-exiftool-perl 9.72-1 pn libnet-dbus-glib-perl <none> ii nautilus-sendto 3.8.2-1 -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
