Given the recent (and ongoing) issues, can we please reevaluate this? We effectively have the option to fix any surviving breakage (I doubt there will be any worth of notice) by changing #!/bin/bash to #!/bin/bash -p where required. This was not possible at the time the patch was first accepted, as it predates the use of /bin/dash as /bin/sh.
