Package: approx
Version: 5.3-1
Severity: minor

Hi Eric,

I use approx for a private network, and apt-get update fails because of

W: Failed to fetch http://server/ubuntu/dists/precise/restricted/source/Sources
 404 Not Found

The logs say:
Sep 22 14:38:07 server approx[23149]: Nethttpd: Protocol exception:
Sys_error("ubuntu/dists/precise/multiverse/source/Sources.gz: Permission
denied")

The permissions of Sources.gz:
---------- 1 approx approx 0 Sep 18 06:28 dists/precise/main/source/Sources.gz

(so something got corrupted)

The permissions of upstream Sources.gz:
-rw-r--r-- 1 mirror dialout 1174967 Apr 25 2012 Sources.gz

I looked for more files (find . -type f -perm 0), and
there were 181 files like that. I removed them and things worked.

I guess approx should try to clean away things it can't read and refetch
from upstream. Also, sending 404 back to the client is not accurate.

Greetings,
Michael.
