Package: debootstrap Version: 0.2.45-0.1 Severity: wishlist Today I tried a remote install of Debian via a chroot and debootstrap. Base system was the latest Knoppix 3.7. I ran into some difficulties (among others those reported in 253348 and 253468) since apparently version 0.2.41-0.2 which is installed on the Knoppix CD cannot bootstrap a sarge system. It would have helped if it had been easier to find out about the version of debootstrap than doing "dpkg -l deboot*". IMHO --version would be a worthwhile addition to the debootstrap command.
