The problem is: some maintainers don't even reply to the users, even when I
send them a patch to fix some problem.

The only thought that passes thru my mind in such situations is that Debian
should have a way to enforce the developers to, at least, give some signal
of life once in a lifetime (they, after all, committed themselves to
maintain their packages).

I have plenty of bugs open for more than 6 months.

Ok, but this has nothing to do with the bug in laptop-mode-tools. :-) Sorry
for the rant, but I needed to vent my opinion. Perhaps I should apply to be
a maintainer of some packages, mostly taking care of QA.
