Package: converseen
Version: 0.8.3-1+b1
Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer,
Converseen is forcing the opening of a url [1] on user when started,
without any consent or action of the said user.
While I am all for supporting free opensource software authors and does
my share whenever possible, I think this behavior is not acceptable as
part of a Debian package.
This could also be regarded as a security risk as the webpage is
inviting user to click on random banners and links, and could be
redirected to armful content. It is also a problem when younger users
(kids) end up browsing a random site online when given permission to use
a local application.
Include a nag-screen on first launch if you must, a menu option to link
to author website, but not this crapware Windows-like home phoning
stuff.
Cheers.
