OTOH if our best guess was correct (e.g. most installs from a real CD/DVD? PXE installs?), an enter-happy person may not be happy at all, because they get to a confusing "now enter a device path" prompt with almost no good information. I think on balance, it is a good change, but some further work on detecting install media to avoid overwriting it, would make it better.
