Effectively Messages cannot be selected since there is No Subject line when certain character sets are used For example: Subject: =?windows-1251?B?yuDk8O7i4CDj4Ofl8uAguTEg4iDT6vDgv+2z?= causes no subject line to appear in either the message list. Others have reported that blocks of text within the messages using certain language encoding disappear.
The Squirrelmail maintainer said "1.4.23 is fine just pull a version more recent than 2012". Apparently this has been fixed over a year ago on the SM source tree.
