That would be nice indeed, I am willing to look into packaging vim-youcompleteme with the new architecture but how should it be handled now that ycmd can be run as a standalone server ? Should vim-youcompleteme be split into two packages ? For example a package named youcompleteme providing ycmd and vim-youcompleteme providing the vim plugin.
